On one hand, many states of the country including Delhi-Rajasthan are experiencing severe heat, on the other hand, many states including Bihar and Eastern UP have recorded a drop in temperature due to rain. According to the Meteorological Department, today i.e. on Friday, there may be rain in Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic plains of West Bengal. During this time, strong winds at the speed of 40-50 km per hour are also expected in many areas. 

The winds will blow here at a speed of 70 kmph

According to the information given by the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rains with thunder, lightning and strong winds may occur in Northeast and East India during the next 5 days. On April 18, thunderstorms may occur at some places in Bihar and North Karnataka and winds may blow at a speed of 70 kmph. Heavy rainfall is expected at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh on April 18 and 19. Dust storms (speed ranging from 30-40 kmph to 50 kmph) are expected in western Rajasthan on April 18 and 19. 

Heatwave alert in these states

The effect of severe heat can be seen in Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Eastern Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Maharashtra even today. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heat wave in these states. The highest maximum temperature of 46.0 degrees Celsius was recorded in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan in the last 24 hours in the country.  

Rajasthan in the grip of severe heat 

Rajasthan is in the grip of severe heat. According to the Meteorological Department, on Thursday, Jaisalmer recorded 46 degrees Celsius and Bikaner recorded 45.1 degrees Celsius, the highest temperature of this season. The Meteorological Department has predicted that relief from the scorching heat is expected after April 20. Barmer also recorded a temperature of 45 degrees Celsius. Phalodi recorded a temperature of 44.8 degrees Celsius.

Churu and Chittorgarh recorded temperatures of 44.2 degrees Celsius, while Pilani recorded 44.1 degrees Celsius. Kota recorded 43.3 degrees Celsius and Banasthali (Tonk) and Bhilwara both touched 43.2 degrees Celsius. Ganganagar recorded a temperature of 43 degrees Celsius.

How will the weather be in Delhi today 

The temperature in Delhi-NCR is above average. Heat wave is forecast in some local areas of Delhi-NCR at this time. The maximum temperature in Delhi-NCR is forecast to be between 39 degrees Celsius and 41 degrees Celsius. The temperature will gradually fall around 19-21 April, after which it will gradually increase.

Latest weather condition of Uttar Pradesh

 There is a possibility of light rain and thunderstorm in some districts of Uttar Pradesh. The Meteorological Department said that there is a possibility of light rain and thunderstorm in eastern Uttar Pradesh on Friday, April 18. Similar conditions are likely to persist till April 20. During this time, strong winds can also blow at a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour.

According to the IMD, on April 18, 19 and 20, there is a possibility of thunderstorms and light rain in many districts of eastern and central Uttar Pradesh including Banda, Chitrakoot, Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Bhadohi, Jaunpur, Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Kushinagar, Kanpur Nagar, Kanpur Dehat, Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Baghpat, Meerut, Etawah, Auraiya, Bijnor, Amroha, Moradabad, Rampur, Jalaun, Jalaun.

Hot and humid conditions are likely to occur during the night in Banda, Chitrakoot, Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Kanpur Dehat, Aligarh, Mathura, Hathras, Etah, Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etawah, Auraiya, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jhansi and Lalitpur.
