News Topical, Digital Desk : Opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav launched a scathing attack on the Nitish Kumar government on Friday (February 20, 2026). Speaking to the media at the Bihar Assembly premises, he said that seven girls are being gang-raped, murdered, and extorted, and crime is rampant. The government is protecting criminals.

'BJP is using the Chief Minister'

Tejashwi said, "Unfortunately, our Chief Minister is unconscious and has no sense of purpose. His condition is deteriorating. The BJP is using him. He has been weakened to such an extent that he must have taken oath nine or ten times in his life, yet he has never given the Home Department to any other party or individual. He has always kept it with himself. Now he has become so helpless and weak that he had to give it to the BJP."

'Where there is a BJP government, there is more crime'

The RJD leader also targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party. He said that in all the BJP-ruled states across the country, crime is the highest. Criminals are being protected in Bihar. The government has no shame left. Criminals are dancing naked without fear. People are scared. Instead of putting criminals behind bars, if opposition members ask questions, their workers and leaders are intimidated.

Government behaving like goons: Tejashwi

Tejashwi said, "The government is behaving like goons. If any incident occurs, it is the responsibility of the opposition to raise the issue so that people can get justice and the government can take cognizance. Here, the opposite is happening; the ruling party is busy abusing the opposition. This government has given complete protection to the criminals of Bihar."
