
News Topical, Digital Desk : Stock Market: There is some confusion among investors regarding the trading schedule for the Indian stock market for Diwali 2025. This is considered an auspicious occasion for traders and investors. Every year, during Diwali, the BSE and NSE conduct a special one-hour Muhurat trading session during their normal trading hours.
Monday or Tuesday... when is the market open?
This time BSE and NSE will be open for normal trading on Monday, October 20, from 9 am to 3.30 pm. However, on Tuesday, October 21, the market will be closed due to Diwali Lakshmi Pujan, but Muhurat trading will be conducted for one hour. After this, the market will be closed on Wednesday, October 22. There will be no trading on this day in NSE and BSE due to Diwali Balipratipada. The evening session of commodity derivatives and electronic gold receipts (EGR) will open at 5 pm on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Muhurat Trading Date and Time Muhurat trading will be conducted this year on Tuesday, October 21, from 1.45 pm to 2.45 pm. This time Muhurat trading will be conducted in the afternoon instead of the usual evening. The Block Deal session will be held from 1:15 pm to 1:30 pm, followed by a pre-open session from 1:30 pm to 2:15 pm, which will be for IPOs and relisted securities. The normal market opening time for this session will be from 1:30 pm to 2:45 pm.
What is Muhurat Trading? Muhurat Trading is considered a traditional occasion for Indian investors. Diwali marks the beginning of the new Samvat, so investors believe that investing in Muhurat Trading will bring auspicious results. It should be noted that in 2025, the stock market will be closed on November 5th for Prakash Gurpurab (Shri Guru Nanak Dev) and on December 25th for Christmas.
