Although the effect of monsoon reduced in between, but the Meteorological Department has indicated that the rainy season will start again in South India from June 10. On the other hand, people in the states of North India are suffering due to heat. The temperature has reached above 40 in many states including Delhi and UP-Bihar. Meanwhile, the people of North India suffering from heat are eagerly waiting for the monsoon. Let us know what the Meteorological Department has said about the arrival of monsoon in North India.

Monsoon arrives in South India

According to the Meteorological Department, a warning of heavy rain has been issued in many states of South India in the next few days. Heavy rain is expected in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya from 11-14 June, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram from 10 to 13 June. Apart from this, rain is expected in Madhya Pradesh on 8 and 9 June. On the other hand, there is a possibility of strong winds along with light rain in Chhattisgarh from 9 to 10 June and in Jharkhand from 11 to 14 June. Apart from these, there may be rain in Odisha and Andaman Nicobar from 8 to 12 June.

Heatwave alert in North India

On one hand, while alert has been issued for rain in the states of South India, people are troubled by heat in the states of North India. The Meteorological Department has said that there will be no relief from this for the next several days. If the Meteorological Department is to be believed, heat wave can be seen in many districts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan in the coming days. These states may have to face similar heat for about a week. 

Heat will scorch in Delhi

If we talk about the capital Delhi and NCR, then after several days of rain, the heat has started here too. The temperature is increasing every day due to the strong sunlight in Delhi-NCR. Along with the strong sunlight throughout the day, people are not getting relief from the heat even at night. The mercury has gone above 40 degrees in Delhi-NCR. However, the Meteorological Department says that there are chances of strong winds in Delhi. At present, people are not getting any relief from the heat. The IMD has predicted the temperature in the capital to reach 44 degrees Celsius on Monday. The temperature is likely to increase further in the next three days.

How far has the monsoon reached?

Talking about monsoon, this year monsoon has knocked before time in Kerala. Monsoon has reached many states of the country. Usually monsoon becomes active across the country by 30th June, but this time monsoon has become active before time. However, till now the effect of monsoon is being seen only in the states of South India. Talking about North India, the Meteorological Department has not yet given any indication of relief from heat for many days to come.
