News Topical, Digital Desk : Punjab News: After the ceasefire between India and Pakistan, the situation has started to return to normal. Meanwhile, schools which were closed six days ago in five border districts of Punjab reopened on Wednesday (May 14). Actually, these schools were closed in view of the Indo-Pak military conflict. 

The state government had ordered the closure of educational institutions for three days on May 8 after tensions between India and Pakistan escalated. On Monday (May 12), schools reopened in most districts, but remained closed in six border districts.

Schools reopened in many districts yesterday.
Schools in Gurdaspur reopened on Tuesday (May 13), while schools in five other border districts reopened on Wednesday (May 14). A teacher at Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School in Attari, Amritsar said, "As per government guidelines, we are reopening schools from today." The Amritsar district administration said on Tuesday that schools will remain open from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm.

This was the attendance of the children on the first day of school reopening.
A teacher in Pathankot said that the attendance of students was 80 percent on the first day of school reopening on Wednesday. The teacher said, "We appeal to all the parents to send their children to school." The situation remained normal in the border areas of Punjab, the markets were crowded with people and the schools reopened.


Punjab shares a 553-km-long border with Pakistan which extends to Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Pathankot, Fazilka, Ferozepur and Gurdaspur districts .
