
News Topical, Digital Desk : RailTel Corporation of India Ltd informed after the stock market closed on Friday, August 1, that it has received an advance work order (AWO) of Rs 166.38 crore (including tax) from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL). This order is service-based and has to be completed by July 31, 2028. The company said that this work will be done as per the terms of the advance work order given by BSNL.
First Quarter Results
RailTel Corporation of India has registered a 36 per cent year-on-year (YoY) increase in its profits in the first quarter of FY 2026 (Q1FY26). The company's net profit stood at Rs 66 crore in the quarter ended June 30, 2025, as against Rs 48.6 crore in the same quarter of the previous financial year. The company's income (Revenue from Operations) grew 33.2 per cent to Rs 743.8 crore from Rs 558 crore in the same quarter last year.
What does RailTel do? RailTel Corporation of India provides broadband telecom and multimedia networks across the country. It is one of India's largest telecom infrastructure companies and is known as a reliable end-to-end IT and ICT service provider. The company has a 62,000 km long optical fiber network, laid along the railway tracks. Apart from this, there is a citywide access network of 21000 km, more than 11000 Points of Presence (PoPs), and more than 1,100 telecom towers across India. Shares of RailTel Corporation of India Limited closed at ₹ 353.70 on BSE, down by ₹ 13.50 or 3.68%.
