She was caught red-handed smuggling meth from the United States in 2021. The court's decision came after she pleaded guilty.

According to police, the drugs being smuggled were estimated to be worth between $1 million and $10 million. His lawyer claimed Sangha committed the crime under duress because someone threatened to harm his son and demanded $150,000. The prosecution sought a sentence of 10 to 12 years, while the defense requested two years of house arrest and three years of probation.

On October 18, 2021, Sangha was crossing the US-Canada border in a rented car with a Florida license plate. She told authorities she was attending her aunt's funeral in Washington.

When officers asked him to stop for a car search, he drove off. Another officer then gave chase and was able to stop him. The investigation revealed bags full of drugs, two iPhones, and a deleted iPad. He reportedly made three more trips to the United States in August, September, and October of that year, although the drugs could not be confirmed on those trips.
