According to Premanand Maharaj, chanting the name of God, repentance, truthfulness, charity, and surrender are crucial for reducing sins and achieving freedom from desires. To give up vices like ego, greed and anger, sing hymns of God and do satsang, because only these provide freedom from desires.
According to Premanand Maharaj, the end of pride
reduces sins by abandoning pride. He considers pride a grave sin, and that true repentance, humility, and devotion are the only means of achieving liberation from sin. When the mind abandons pride and becomes humble, the path to the destruction of sins is paved.
According to Premanand Maharaj, adopting good behavior
(pure conduct) reduces sin, because unless one's behavior and conduct are good, he can never do good.
According to Maharaj Ji, no sin is erased by showing off, hurting others, or hypocrisy. True well-being is possible only when one's thoughts and actions are pure.
