He says, ‘If a maker trusts you like this, then you feel that yes, now I can experiment. I was waiting for people to bring work to me. Half of our time was spent in convincing people that we can do good and different work. Then we did not get time to perform. This is a good time for me. There are many writers who say that when we wrote the story, we thought of you. What more can an artist want than this?’

In the coming days, Prateek will be seen playing the role of Mahatma Gandhi in Hansal Mehta's web series 'Gandhi'. He has played the role of Mahatma Gandhi many times on stage as well. Does he understand him deeply? On this, Prateek says, 'I consider myself fortunate that I have been performing in different formats of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi's life for the last 10-12 years.

Now I have got a chance to work in a web series. Wherever we have gone for our play, all the Gandhi fans we have met have read and told us something or the other about Gandhiji. All that information enriches you as an artist. I know so many things about him that are not part of any script. But they help me a lot in playing that role.

Pratik spoke about Mahatma Gandhi

For example, when Gandhiji was in Yerwada jail, a man asked him, “Bapu, how should people who commit violence against women be treated?” At that time Gandhiji said that even if such a person is shot, it is still non-violence. When you come across such stories, then you are able to understand them deeply.

When I play a character, I am able to understand it differently through such stories. It is not like people standing in the crowd say that this is non-violence, that is not non-violence. There are many layers to it, which one has to understand while playing the character.
