Now Prime Minister Narendra Modi will soon visit the flood-affected states and take stock of the situation. Official sources gave this information on Friday. Many states of North India have been badly affected by heavy rains. Heavy rains and floods have caused heavy damage to roads and properties, as well as loss of life.

States like Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Punjab are among the worst affected areas. Sources said Modi will visit some of these areas and take stock of the situation. His visit comes at a time when some state governments have sought financial assistance from the Centre to deal with the crisis.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan visited Punjab
Earlier on Thursday, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan visited the flood-affected areas of Punjab's Amritsar district. In Amritsar, he said that two central teams are also visiting Punjab to assess the situation arising out of the floods and they will submit a report to the Center. Talking to reporters in Amritsar, Chauhan said that Punjabis have always been at the forefront in serving the country and humanity.
He said, "But today Punjab is going through a difficult time due to floods and many villages are affected, due to which normal life has been disrupted. The fields have been submerged." He said that the Center is fully standing with the people of Punjab in this difficult time. Chauhan said, "The Prime Minister has sent me to Punjab. We will take stock of the situation and talk to the people." So far 37 people have died due to floods in Punjab and more than 3.55 lakh people have been affected. Officials said that crops in more than 1.75 lakh hectares of area have been destroyed in the floods.
