Bareilly.  After June 5, a door-to-door checking campaign will be conducted in areas where there is power theft. Corporation officials have started preparing for this. Officials have asked engineers for a list of three feeders at the divisional level, where there have been maximum faults and unannounced power cuts in the last 10 days.Officials say that the campaign will start in the presence of police force in the areas operated by feeders. The load will be increased on the spot in those premises where demand for electricity is found to be more than the approved load. Also, action will be taken as per rules if tampering or theft is detected in the meter.


In this regard, Superintending Engineer Amba Prasad Vashishtha says that along with distribution, test teams will also be deployed in the investigation team.

Troubled by power cuts in scorching heat

Transformers and cables are unable to bear the load in the scorching heat. Due to this faults are occurring every day. On Monday, the power supply in Subhash Nagar, Qutubkhana, Kila area was affected due to local fault. This fault remained a problem for the people throughout the day. The power supply which was disrupted in Azam Nagar, Kancha Sitaram area at around 11:30 pm last Sunday night continued till 2:30 am on Monday. There was power outage in the areas around Kalibari Old Bus Staff.

In Phool Balana Gadhiya area, operated from Kila sub-center, power supply was disrupted due to a cable fire at around 7:30 am. Supply resumed after around 12 noon. Along with this, due to technical problem in the transformer in Shastri Nagar, power outages in the afternoon troubled people. Due to burning of cable in Shanti Vihar, operated from Subhash Nagar sub-center, power supply was affected from 5 pm to 8 pm.

Low voltage also caused problems

Local resident Rishabh Bajpai said that low voltage and power outages in Jagriti Nagar, Tilak Colony and areas around the railway crossing troubled people the whole day. Local resident Sanjeev Saxena said that low voltage and power outages from Civil Lines-3 substation from 6 pm onwards troubled people till late night as usual.

 

Here, around 1000 people were troubled for three hours due to a fault in the transformer located at Kabutar Chowk operated from Qutubkhana sub-centre on Saturday night at around 11:30 pm. Whereas, due to a fault in a wire of the transformer, the power supply remained disrupted in Kucha Sitaram area from 1 am on Saturday night to 2 am on Sunday morning.
