On this, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the Modi government has started five new 'Amrit Bharat' trains for Bihar. Yadav, a Lok Sabha member from Banka in Bihar, while asking a supplementary question amid the uproar of opposition members during the Question Hour in the House, said, "Bihar has a big role in bringing the NDA government (at the Center).
Will the Railway Minister tell whether he has started any train between Patna to Delhi and Patna to Bengaluru in the last 11 years? Despite such a long waiting list, no new train has been given to Bihar by the Railway Minister. He questioned whether the Railway Minister wants to run new trains to these places?
In response to this, the Railway Minister said, "MPs should note that five Amrit Bharat trains have been started. The Prime Minister is paying special attention to this. Amrit Bharat is such a train that provides good facilities to even the poorest of the poor."
Bihar's railway budget is Rs 10 thousand crore
Vaishnav said that 11 years ago, only Rs 1132 crore was allocated for railway projects in Bihar, but Prime Minister Narendra Modi has increased the railway budget for Bihar to Rs 10 thousand crore. He said that many old railway projects have also been completed in Bihar.
NDA ally JDU MP Giridhari Yadav also questioned the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign of the voter list in Bihar and said that this will raise questions on the results of last year's Lok Sabha elections. He said that the Election Commission should conduct SIR for at least six months, so that eligible voters get enough time to file the necessary documents. Giridhari Yadav said that the SIR campaign has troubled the people, especially the poor.
