Prime Minister Narendra Modi has spoken to Indian Olympic Association (IOA) President PT Usha. He sought information from PT Usha about the issue and the options available to India after Vinesh's setback. He has asked PT Usha to explore all options to help Vinesh in her case. He also urged PT Usha to lodge a strong protest regarding her disqualification if it helps Vinesh. Earlier, the PM had encouraged Vinesh by tweeting.
