News Topical, Digital Desk : A case of attempted murder using a rare toxic substance, thallium, has been reported against a transport businessman in the city's Lalghat area. The businessman's wife has filed a complaint against unidentified individuals, alleging that her husband was deliberately poisoned. This incident has come into the spotlight after a similar storyline involving a character in the film Dhurandhar was revealed.

According to the complaint, Sandeep Singh, a resident of Lalghat, is involved in the transport business and transports road construction materials. He has also been involved in political activities. His wife, Khushboo Singh, told police that in February 2025, while treating an acquaintance at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram, her husband's health suddenly deteriorated. He first developed a fever, then began complaining of body tingling, severe pain, and vomiting.

Sandeep's family first admitted him to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram, but when his condition didn't improve, he was transferred to Max Super Specialty Hospital in Delhi. Doctors there suspected Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS), and as his condition worsened, he was placed in the ICU and later put on a ventilator.

Subsequently, on March 27, 2025, he was taken to P.D. Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai via air ambulance. Doctors there found traces of a toxic substance called thallium in his blood. According to doctors, thallium is an extremely rare and deadly poison that can be used to cause serious harm or attempt murder.

Khushboo, the wife, alleges that an unknown person attempted to kill her husband by poisoning him with thallium for unknown reasons. She has demanded legal action against the unidentified suspects. Police have received the complaint and begun investigating the matter. Officials say further action will be taken based on medical reports, treatment documents, and interviews with relevant individuals.
