New Delhi: Heavy rains in Rajasthan for the last three days have created flood-like conditions in many districts. Due to the breaking of the dam in Sawaimadhopur district, water got into the surrounding villages. 22 people have died in two days in rain-related accidents in the state. Due to the rains, life in many other parts of the country was badly disrupted.

Due to heavy rains, many parts of the capital Delhi were waterlogged and traffic jams occurred. Life in the adjoining Gurugram was also badly affected. Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Monday took stock of the areas affected by heavy rains and gave necessary instructions for providing relief.

Holiday in schools of seven districts

Due to heavy rains, schools in seven districts of the state including Jaipur remained closed on Monday. There will be a holiday in Dausa, Karauli and Sawaimadhopur districts on Tuesday as well. Traffic movement has been disrupted due to waterlogging up to two feet in Tonk on the Jaipur-Kota national highway.

Water filled in many villages of Sawaimadhopur

Flood like situation has arisen in many areas of Karauli district. Tehsil office and police quarters in Sapotra got flooded. People have been shifted to safer places after flood like situation arose in Hindaun City. Houses here got flooded. Due to fast flow of water, the dam of Hindupura dam in Sawaimadhopur district broke on Monday, due to which water filled the surrounding villages. One and a half dozen villages have lost contact with the district headquarters.

Rail traffic affected in Dausa

There is a flood situation in Lalsot of Dausa district. In the Dausa-Gangapur railway line project, soil collapsed near Chhidwana village and fell on the railway track, due to which rail traffic has been affected. Two youths who went to take bath in Galta Kund in Jaipur died by drowning.

Bandi river on the rise

The Bandi river in Jaipur district is in spate. The railway track at the Gandhi Nagar railway station of the city has been submerged in water. Jaipur airport premises and Sawai Man Singh hospital premises are flooded. In Varanasi in UP, the water level of the Ganga has decreased by about half a meter in the last 26 hours, but in Ballia the water level is about one meter above the danger mark.

In Mau and Ballia, the water level of Saryu river is rising slowly and is above the danger point. In Varanasi, the bodies are being cremated only on the roof of Manikarnika, while at Harishchandra Ghat, only one or two pyres can be lit at a time at the mouth of the street. Due to this, people have to wait for hours for cremation.

Work in the IT sector in Gurugram is affected by 50 percent

Waterlogging in Gurugram, Haryana, adjacent to Delhi, is having a huge impact on the IT and telecom sector. On Monday, due to the possibility of heavy rain, 50 percent less employees arrived. On Sunday, only 25 percent of the employees arrived. There is waterlogging at many places in the city. Many industrial plants are also flooded.

Staff did not arrive

There are more than five thousand companies of IT, IT enabled and telecom sector in Cyber ​​City. Due to continuous rain, their staff also could not reach.

PM's Himachal visit cancelled due to bad weather

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was scheduled to visit flood-affected areas in Himachal Pradesh on Monday. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that his visit has been cancelled due to bad weather. It is estimated that the state has suffered a loss of Rs 1004.60 crore so far due to rain.

199 roads closed

In Himachal, 39 houses and 15 Gaushalas have been damaged due to rain for two days. 199 roads including two national highways are closed. 143 drinking water schemes are affected. In Chamba district, a child going to school in the morning and his aunt died after being hit by stones falling from the hill. The woman had hung her three-year-old son on her back who has suffered minor injuries.

Roads inundated in Bengaluru too

Due to the rain, office goers and school children faced a lot of trouble as traffic jams and roads were submerged in many areas of Bengaluru. Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar visited the rain affected areas. He is also in charge of Bengaluru.
