Kochi: Authorities on Monday caught a passenger at the Kochi airport with about 500 grams of gold. The passenger, who arrived in Kochi from Doha via Dubai, was stopped by officials at the exit gate of the Cochin International Airport. When the passenger was thoroughly searched, 8 gold chains were recovered from him.
The passenger had hidden all the eight gold chains inside the soles of his shoes, the total weight of which is 466.5 grams. Please note that the authorities often catch passengers bringing gold from abroad.
