New Delhi: The first case of the ampox virus has been detected in India and it has been verified as a travel-related infection. The central government is on alert after the first case of ampox was reported in India. The Union Health Ministry said, 'A young male patient, who recently arrived from a country suffering from ampox (monkeypox) infection, has been identified as a suspected case of ampox.
Where did Ampox come from?
The statement further said that the condition of the person infected with the ampox virus is stable at the moment and he is not suffering from any other disease. He has been isolated in a designated hospital for care.
What are the symptoms of ampox?
Symptoms of ampox include fever, muscle pain, chills, headache, back pain, fatigue, large and painful watery rashes, and swollen lymph nodes.
