Police registered a case
The accident occurred last night at around 10:05 p.m. A large crowd was present outside the station. The accident occurred with a wet-lease electric AC bus from the Vikhroli depot, driven by a contract driver. Police have detained 52-year-old Santosh Ramesh Sawant. A case has been filed against him for causing death by negligence and rash driving.
The driver was suspended
BEST officials have ordered an investigation into the incident and suspended the driver. "We will investigate the incident to determine whether the bus driver received proper training," officials said. Three women were among the deceased, identified as 45-year-old Manasi Gurav, 31-year-old actress Pranitha Rasam, and 25-year-old Sawant.
