News Topical, Digital Desk : Police have arrested a man accused of demanding Rs 25 lakh and one kilogram of gold from a businessman in the name of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. An officer from the Goregaon police station identified the accused as Tejas Shelar.

Due to his addiction to online games, he had a debt of Rs 3 lakh. He called the owner of a chemical factory several times. He told him that the gang was eyeing his house, office and factory. He demanded Rs 25 lakh and one kilogram of gold from the businessman. The businessman contacted the police and lodged an FIR.

Within 18 hours of filing the FIR, Shelar was arrested from Ambarnath. He has confessed to the crime. Shelar, who works in a private company in Goregaon, had collected information about the businessman, his family and business before making the threatening calls.
