News Topical, Digital Desk : MCX Trading News: The Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX), the country's largest commodity trading exchange, experienced a technical glitch this morning on Monday, October 28, 2025. Due to this glitch, trading was delayed by four hours. Before the start of trading, trading hours were repeatedly postponed. The glitch was finally resolved by noon, and a special trading session was held from 1:20 pm to 1:24 pm, with normal trading resuming at 1:25 pm.
Trading on MCX typically begins at 9:00 AM, but due to this technical issue, trading didn't begin until 1:21 PM today.
Initially, a message posted on the MCX website stated, "Members are requested that due to a technical issue, trading will begin at 9:30 AM today. Trading will be conducted from the DR (Disaster Recovery) site. We apologize for the inconvenience." This was followed by an update at 12:35 PM stating that the start of trading was delayed due to a technical issue. Market participants will be informed of the trading start time. MCX issued another update, with the same response: "Technical issue." Now, it's reported that a special trading session took place from 1:20 PM to 1:24 PM. Normal trading resumed at 1:25 PM. Previous problems were also seen on July 24, 2025. MCX clarified the previous day's trading disruption, attributing the one-hour outage to "recurring database issues." In October 2023, when MCX first launched its new software, developed by TCS, it faced "teething difficulties," including connectivity issues and delays in price updates.
