News Topical, Digital Desk : Deepika Padukone has been in the news since her exit from two major South Indian films: Sandeep Reddy Vanga's "Spirit" and Nag Ashwin's "Kalki 2898 AD" sequel. Since then, the industry has been embroiled in debate over the actress's alleged demand for an 8-hour work shift. However, many industry insiders have expressed their views on the matter.
Recently, producer SKN praised Rashmika Mandanna at an event for her upcoming Telugu film 'The Girlfriend', saying that she is the 'only actress' who doesn't make such demands at work. Producer SKN was also seen on stage at the event and praised Rashmika for not demanding any working hours. Although he didn't name anyone, he clearly referred to Deepika's alleged request to work 8 hours, saying, ‘At a time when there is a debate on how many hours one should work, there is only one heroine in the whole of India who is willing to work as many hours as required.’
He said, “She (Rashmika Mandanna) doesn't view work in terms of hours, but in terms of love. Her commitment is about time, not limits. That's why everyone feels like Rashmika is part of the family.”
Work-wise, Rashmika Mandanna has had a busy year. She appeared in Bollywood films like Chawa, Sikandar, and most recently, Thama, as well as Kubera in Telugu and Tamil. Next, she will be seen in The Girlfriend, which is scheduled to release in theaters on November 7th. She also has Cocktail 2 and Mysaa in the pipeline.
Deepika Padukone backed out of the sequels to Spirit and Kalki 2898 AD after her daughter's birth due to demanding 8-hour shifts. She said, "As a woman, if it feels like pressure, it is." She also mentioned how many prominent male actors in the industry have been working 8-hour shifts for years without any negative headlines. The issue has now become a topic of discussion within the industry.
