News Topical, Digital Desk : A massive fire broke out in a 24-storey building in Dahisar, North Mumbai on Sunday (7 September). One woman died tragically in this accident, while 18 were injured. Officials said that the fire has been extinguished.

According to the information, this fire broke out in the new Jan Kalyan Society located in Shanti Nagar, Dahisar. It broke out on the seventh floor of the building. This incident is said to have happened around three o'clock in the afternoon. The fire was brought under control after about three hours.

The condition of 7 people is critical

Mumbai Fire Department said that 36 people were rescued in the fire incident. Out of these, 19 people were admitted to nearby hospitals. Seven injured have been reported in Rohit Hospital, out of which one woman died and the condition of a man remains critical.

7 fire engines brought the fire under control

As soon as the information about the incident was received, the Mumbai Fire Brigade team reached the spot and started extinguishing the fire. It is being told that seven fire engines brought the fire under control.

The building was filled with smoke and the firefighters had a tough time doing rescue and relief work. 7 fire engines, 3 jumbo tankers, 2 water tankers, 1 breathing apparatus van, 1 high pressure pump, 1 automatic ladder platform, 1 turntable ladder, 1 high rise fire fighting vehicle and 1 quick response vehicle are present to douse the fire.
