On the day of monthly Shivratri (Mahadev Puja Rituals), Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati are worshipped during the night. For this, the monthly Shivratri of Magh month will be celebrated on January 16. On this day, the time for worship during the night is from 11:42 pm to 12:34 am.

Method of worship
On the day of monthly Shivratri, wake up before sunrise. At this time, pay obeisance to Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati. After this, clean the house and take a bath with water mixed with Ganga water. Now, after sipping water, wear new white clothes and offer water to the Sun God. After this, worship Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati by performing Panchopachar. At this time, offer fruits, flowers and sweets to Lord Shiva. During the puja, recite Shiv Chalisa and chant Shiva mantras. Conclude the puja with the Aarti of Lord Shiva. At this time, pray to Lord Shiva for an increase in happiness and good fortune.
