News Topical, Digital Desk : Six workers died in a tragic mine accident in Palanadu, Andhra Pradesh on Sunday. The accident took place in a granite mine. Ten other workers were also injured in the accident. The condition of some of the injured workers is critical. All the workers who lost their lives in this accident were residents of Odisha. After the accident, a rescue operation is being carried out on the spot.

About 16 workers were working in the mine

Raghav, one of the mine workers, said on the incident, "I am from Odisha and we were working in the mine. Today morning around 9.30 am, during drilling, the rock fell from above and an accident occurred, in which people got injured. 16 people were working there. The collector met us and spoke to the injured and assured them of providing all possible help." 

According to the information, a rescue operation is being carried out to retrieve the bodies of two workers trapped in the debris. The bodies of the other four workers have been retrieved. The workers injured in the accident have been admitted to a government hospital in Narasaraopet.
