New Delhi. Exercising is very important to stay healthy. It is very important not only for physical health but also for mental health. However, while exercising, it is also important to keep in mind that your body remains hydrated. For this, it is advisable to take a few sips of water in between exercises, but some people drink a lot of water immediately after doing a hard workout for hours, which is very wrong from the health point of view.

Exercise is a physical activity in which the body is in motion. Drinking water immediately after coming to rest from such motion can prove to be harmful. Let us know why one should not drink water immediately after exercising.

Do not drink water after exercise for these reasons

During exercise, water comes out of the body in the form of sweat, which dehydrates the body. In such a situation, digestion power can get disturbed if cold water is suddenly added to the hot body. During this time, its absorption capacity is less, due to which as soon as cold water reaches the hot stomach, there can be a problem of strong contraction, cramping, diarrhea and stomach ache.

It is fun to drink cold water to quench thirst, but drinking hot water after exercise is considered better. The digestive system easily digests hot water, so do not drink cold water immediately after exercise.

The heart should rest for some time immediately after exercise. But drinking water immediately causes it to accumulate in the gastrointestinal tract, which suddenly increases the amount of circulation in the body and increases the pressure on the heart.

Drinking plain water immediately after exercise can also cause electrolyte imbalance in the body, leading to vomiting, nausea, dizziness and fatigue.

Therefore, only if it is absolutely necessary, take a sip or two of any electrolyte or a few sips of lukewarm or hot water immediately after exercise.
