News Topical, Digital Desk : In the alleged gang rape case of a first year student of South Calcutta Law College located in Ballygunge, Kolkata, the medical report of the victim has confirmed the rape. A senior police officer has given this information.

 

The medical examination was conducted at Calcutta National Medical College and Hospital. According to the police, the medical report shows that the victim had been assaulted, bitten, scratched with nails and beaten.

 

When did the incident happen?

Forensic investigation has also found evidence of scuffle. A former student of the law college, who is said to be a Trinamool Congress worker, along with two senior students, committed this crime in the room of the security personnel of the institute on the night of 25 June.

All three accused in this incident were arrested on Thursday night. The names of the accused are Manojit Mishra, Pramit Mukhopadhyay and Jeb Ahmed. Among them, Manojit is the main accused and a former student leader of the college.

 

The accused is a lawyer by profession

He is also currently a temporary employee of the college. He is a lawyer for criminal cases in Alipore Police and Sessions Court. Pramit and Jeb are third year students of the college. Police have also seized the mobile phones of the accused and they will be investigated.

 

The CCTV footage of the college will also be examined. The victim had said that she was tortured from 7.30 pm to 10.50 pm. Chief Public Prosecutor Sorin Ghoshal, citing a Supreme Court verdict, said that the incident will be treated as gang rape and not rape.

Because if a person commits rape and others help him in any way, they will also be considered accused. The process of recording the confidential statement of the victim before the judicial magistrate is also going on.
