News Topical, Digital Desk : Five people have been arrested for harassing and assaulting police officers in Alappuzha, Kerala. Police have registered a case against them under the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Two police officers also suffered minor injuries in the incident.

Two policemen were deployed at a temple in Kerala to maintain law and order during Diwali. Meanwhile, the five accused attacked the policemen.

There was a ruckus when people were stopped from entering the temple.

An officer from the Kuthiathode police station explained the incident, stating that two police officers were deployed at a temple for Diwali. Around 10 p.m., some people, under the influence of alcohol, attempted to enter the temple. This could have disrupted the temple's peace.

The two policemen present outside the temple tried to stop them, but they refused. When they were forced to do so, they began beating them. Both policemen were injured in the process. However, upon receiving information about the incident, the rest of the police force also arrived at the scene.

Police arrested five

Police have arrested five accused. A case has been registered against them under the BNS Act, and further investigation is underway. Police officers also sustained minor injuries in the incident, but their condition is now reported to be improving.
