Beginning of Ashtami Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Ashwin month - 05:04 am on 14th September
End of Ashtami Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Ashwin month - on 15th September at 03:06 am
Jitiya Vrat Puja Vidhi
- Start the day of Jitiya Vrat by meditating on God. After this, take a bath and wear clean clothes and offer water to Sun God.
- After cleaning the temple, purify it by sprinkling Ganga water.
- Spread a clean cloth on the stand and place the idol of Lord Jimutvahana on it.
- Light a lamp of desi ghee and perform the aarti of Lord Jimutvahana.
- Recite the fast story.
- Chant mantras.
- Offer fruits and sweets.
- Pray for having a child.
- Donate special things to people.
Keep these things in mind (Jitiya Vrat Niyam)
- Do not argue with anyone on the day of Jitiya fast.
- Do not wear black clothes even by mistake.
- Don't think wrongly about anyone.
- Take special care of the cleanliness of the house and temple.
- Donate special things. It is believed that donating on this day leads to monetary gains and a person never lacks anything in life.
- Do not consume tamasic food.
Donate these things (Jitiya Vrat Daan)
After performing Puja on the day of Jitiya Vrat, donate money, food, clothes, black sesame seeds etc. to the temple or to the poor people. According to religious belief, by donating these things, the devotee gets auspicious results and happiness and prosperity remains in life.
