News Topical, Digital Desk : Himachal Suicide: A heartbreaking incident has come to light in Solan district of Himachal Pradesh, in which a Nepali-origin youth has been accused of murdering his landlady.

This sensational incident came to light on the night of 22 June 2025, when Devendra Kumar, a resident of Salogra, lodged a report at Police Station Sadar Solan that his 56-year-old mother Santosh Devi was found dead under suspicious circumstances. The body of the woman was found in the room of a Nepali tenant named Prem.

According to the complainant, when he returned home at night, his mother was not found at home. When he went to Prem Nepali's room during the search, the door was found locked from inside. When Prem did not open the door despite calling several times, Devendra broke the door. On going inside, he saw that Santosh Devi was lying on the floor soaked in blood and Prem Nepali was also lying unconscious in the room.

As soon as the information was received, the team of Police Station Sadar Solan reached the spot and the team of SFSL Junga was also called to collect evidence. Investigation revealed that the accused Prem (36 years), resident of District Delag, Nepal, was drunk at the time of the incident. Initial investigation has revealed that the accused committed the crime after finding the woman alone at home and after the murder he himself consumed pesticide.

The accused was sent to the regional hospital Solan in an unconscious state, from where he was referred to IGMC Shimla after first aid. The police is investigating the case thoroughly. The reason for the murder will be known only after the accused regains consciousness.
