News Topical, Digital Desk : Soha Ali Khan recently talked about the relationship between her parents, veteran actress Sharmila Tagore and late cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. Both of them came from completely different backgrounds and supported each other for years. In an interview, Soha told how her mother's advice and her views on marriage still inspire her.

Soha praised her parents

Speaking to Radio Nasha Official, Soha praised her parents for keeping their relationship strong despite their separate careers. They managed to stay married till my father passed away and I think staying in the same relationship for a long time is very challenging in today's times. There are so many options.'

Sharmila had given this advice to Soha

She said that Sharmila often reminds her to stay connected with her family and says that in today's times people have started losing touch with their relatives. Soha also recalled her mother's simple but best advice, she said, 'Don't hurt a man's ego and a woman's feelings'. Although it may not seem modern in today's times, Soha said that it is still meaningful to her.

Sharmila changed her religion for love

Sharmila Tagore married Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi in 1968 at the age of 24. Their marriage faced many problems due to their different religions and Sharmila had revealed that she had received threats at that time. After marriage, she converted to Islam and changed her name to Ayesha.

Despite these challenges, Sharmila continued her film career even after marriage and motherhood, breaking the stereotypes for actresses of her generation. Despite the low earnings of cricketers at that time, she was the source of the family income for a time. Together, Sharmila and Pataudi raised three children, Saif, Soha and Saba, and were married for more than four decades.
