Talking to NDTV, Mohit said, "I still feel like that boy who was sitting outside Amar Juice Centre in Mumbai and was looking at the hoarding of 'Paap' (Udita Goswami's first Hindi film which released in 2003) and was saying that I want to marry this girl. I didn't even know who she was. I just said it. And, I think the universe was listening to me." Mohit Suri directed Udita's film Zeher in the year 2005. This was his directorial debut.

How did you first meet?

Mohit Suri recalled how Paap director Pooja Bhatt introduced him to Udita. Pooja Bhatt is also Mohit Suri's cousin. Mohit said, "I went for a (film) trial and Pooja introduced me to her. She said, 'Udita, this is Mohit. He wants to become a director and wants to marry you.' It was very embarrassing... but I think that's where our love story actually began."
