News Topical, Digital Desk : Himachal Mock Drill: The mock drill under Operation Abhyas began with the siren sounding at 4 pm in the Shimla district office premises. This drill was conducted for the incident of fire caused by air strike in the District Disaster Management Authority office. The incident was reported to the State Disaster Management Authority at 4:02 pm.

Along with this, the police and SDRF, Home Guard, Health and Fire Department were also informed. The fire department team reached the spot in about two minutes. Along with this, police, ambulance, home guard, army contingent also reached the District Collector Office premises in the next five minutes.

First of all, the army did a recce of the entire building. Along with this, the Home Guard team entered the District Magistrate's office for rescue. Then the rescue team took three injured people to the ambulance and gave them first aid. Members of Civil Defense also played a role in this drill.  

Mock drill in Sanjauli parking 

A mock drill was organised today under Operation Abhyas in Sanjauli suburb adjacent to Shimla city. Local administration and police administration reached the spot immediately after getting information about the attack at 4:00 am. Top officials informed the reporting officer about the air strike and requested the fire brigade, Himachal Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority and ambulance teams to reach the spot as soon as possible to safely evacuate the injured people from the spot. Fire brigade, Himachal Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority and ambulance reached the spot at 4:10 am. After the air strike, the fire brigade personnel controlled the fire at the spot. 

After this, 04 injured citizens and one dead person were taken out from the parking area by Himachal Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority. All the injured persons were sent to Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital for treatment. 

During the mock drill organised in Sanjauli, Additional District Magistrate Protocol Jyoti Rana, ASP Ratan Negi, Sub Divisional Magistrate Shimla Urban Oshin Sharma, District Revenue Officer Sanjeet Sharma and other officers were present.

All stakeholders played an excellent role in the mock drill - Deputy Commissioner

Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap said that the mock drill was organized on time. All the stakeholders participating in this drill have played an excellent role. Members of Civil Defense were also a part of this drill. The Deputy Commissioner said that the Army, Home Guard and SDRF worked with full enthusiasm in the drill. The Army will give special training to the members of Civil Defense so that they can help in case of disaster. Apart from this, a kit of essential items will be made during the disaster so that the members of Civil Defense can use it in the disaster. He said that the main goal of this drill is to strengthen the civil defense. How can the general public play an important role in the event of a disaster. He said that work will be done to provide a special room for the members of Civil Defense.

Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi said that today the drill was organized at the district level with coordination. We are all ready for rescue operations in case of disaster in future. More and more people will be encouraged to join Civil Defense. Apart from this, the communication system will be strengthened in case of disaster. At the same time, siren systems will be installed at designated places.

Feedback taken from officers after mock drill
After the mock drill operation practice in Shimla city, a briefing was organized in Bachat Bhawan. In this meeting, ADM (Protocol) Jyoti Rana gave detailed information about the mock drill in Sanjauli. Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi, Additional District Magistrate (Law and Order) Pankaj Sharma and others gave their feedback.
