
News Topical, Digital Desk : Himachal Pradesh Rape News: A man gave a 65-year-old woman a 'lift' on his scooty near Bhota area in Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh. It is being told that a person has been arrested on charges of raping the woman. Police gave this information on Monday. Hamirpur Superintendent of Police Bhagat Singh Thakur said that this incident happened when the elderly woman was returning to her home from Jalandhar on Saturday night.
The accused took the woman to Jhiraldi forest
Bhagat Singh Thakur said that the woman got down at Bhota bus stand at around 9 pm and started looking for a taxi, but she did not have enough money to pay the fare quoted by the taxi driver. The officer said that meanwhile the accused offered her a lift and said that he was going in the same direction where the woman had to go. He said that the accused forcibly took the woman to Jhiraldi forest.
Thakur said that a minor accident also occurred due to the accused driving the scooter at high speed and when the woman objected, he beat her and raped her. He said that the accused is married and works as a tractor driver. He said that the accused put the mobile phone of the elderly woman on 'flight mode' so that she could not contact her family members and then he fled from the spot.
The victim spoke to her son with the help of people
Thakur said that later the victim contacted her son with the help of some people and the police reached the spot and provided medical assistance to the victim. The officer said that the police have caught the accused who was hiding in the forest. He said that a case has been registered and further investigation is on.
