News Topical, Digital Desk : RJD MLA Reetlal Yadav is currently in Bhagalpur jail. Now, his troubles have worsened. While he is currently in jail for extorting money from a builder, the Patna High Court on Thursday (September 25, 2025) overturned the acquittal order of the special MP-MLA court in the highly controversial Satyanarayan Sinha murder case.

Now, the case will be challenged again in the Patna High Court. Consequently, the Danapur MLA seems unlikely to receive relief before the elections. On one hand, there are elections looming, and on the other, the revocation of the acquittal order has increased the RJD MLA's tension.

The acquittal order came in 2023

It should be noted that in 2023, the special MP-MLA court acquitted Ritlal Yadav in the murder case of Satyanarayan Sinha, husband of Asha Sinha, a former BJP MLA from Danapur. The murder case was heard under a speedy trial on the orders of the Patna High Court. Ritlal Yadav and several others were accused in the case.

The court acquitted Ritlal Yadav and other accused due to lack of evidence. Following this, Asha Sinha approached the Patna High Court in this case. In February of this year (2025), the court issued notices to all the accused in the case.

Satyanarayan Sinha was murdered in 2003

It's worth noting that Satyanarayan Sinha was shot dead near Jamaluddin Chak in Khagaul nearly 22 years ago, on April 30, 2003. On the same day, the RJD organized a "Tel Pilavan, Lathi Ghumavan" rally at Patna's historic Gandhi Maidan.

MLA Ritlal Yadav is currently lodged in Bhagalpur jail. He was accused of extortion by a builder, Kumar Gaurav. Following this, police raided his hideouts. Ritlal Yadav surrendered in court on April 17th of this year. The MLA and three other associates—Chikku Yadav, Pinku Yadav, and Shravan Yadav—were sent to jail under judicial custody in connection with the case.
