News Topical, Digital Desk : The Hodal CIA team of Palwal district of Haryana, carrying out a major operation, has succeeded in recovering 435 boxes of illegal English liquor being taken from Ropar district of Punjab to Bihar and has started further action by arresting the accused truck driver. 

Preliminary investigations have also revealed that the accused has previously been jailed in Maharashtra for liquor smuggling. Providing details about this major crackdown on drug trafficking by the Hodal CIA police team, CIA in-charge Jagmindra stated that they received information from a special informant that a truck loaded with illicit liquor was headed from Punjab to Hodal via Bihar. 

Believing the informant's information to be accurate, a patrol was conducted along the Hodal-Ujina Drain. Shortly afterward, a truck-dumper truck with the number RJ 53 GA 0552 was spotted approaching. Police signaled the truck to stop, and upon stopping, a search was conducted, revealing a large quantity of liquor boxes hidden beneath wooden planks. 

435 cases of illicit liquor seized

The number of liquor seized was 435, including Royal Stage and Imperial Blue liquors. When the truck driver, Naveen, of Charkhi Dadri, Haryana, was asked for documents regarding the illegal liquor, he was unable to produce any evidence. The driver was subsequently arrested and the illegal liquor worth approximately ₹2.5 million was recovered.

A case has been registered against the accused at Hodal police station under various sections, including illegal liquor smuggling. Sources indicate that the liquor was being transported to distribute among voters during the elections. The accused will be produced in court and remanded for further questioning, and the entire network will be exposed.
