According to religious beliefs,  Maharishi Ved Vyas ji was born on the day of Guru Purnima  . Ved Vyas ji is considered one of the greatest gurus of Hinduism, who composed great texts like Mahabharata. His birth anniversary is also celebrated as Vyas Purnima on this day. This date is for all those gurus who have given direction to our lives, be it parents, teachers, or someone who has imparted knowledge to us.

• On this day, wake up in the Brahma Muhurta and take a holy bath.
• Take a bath in a holy river on this day; if this is difficult then take a bath by mixing Ganga water in the water.
• Wear clean clothes.
• Clean the temple at home.
• Install a statue of your Guru on an altar.
• Light a ghee lamp in front of the Guru.
• Offer them white sandalwood, whole rice grains, flowers, sacred thread, fruits, sweets etc.
• In the end, perform the Aarti of Guru and take his blessings.
• Apologize for your mistakes and resolve to follow the right path in life.
