News Topical, Digital Desk : In light of the ever-increasing pollution levels in Ghaziabad, the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has launched a special campaign to improve air quality. On Monday, GDA Vice President Nand Kishore Kalal held a high-level meeting with all relevant officials and issued clear instructions to strictly enforce the provisions of GRAP (Graded Response Action Plan).

The Vice President emphasized that pollution control should be pursued as a comprehensive mission, not just an administrative action. He directed all departments to work together and maintain constant field monitoring.

Instructions for compulsory water sprinkling in four shifts

He particularly emphasized that water sprinkling should be mandatory in all Authority colonies in four shifts to effectively control dust particles. To this end, the continuous use of water sprinklers, jetting machines, road sweeping machines, and anti-smoke guns will be ensured.

Action continues against those burning garbage or furnaces

It is worth noting that officials informed the meeting that water sprinkling is currently being carried out in two shifts in the authorized areas. Regular sprinkling is also being done in central verges, parks, and green belt areas. Furthermore, continuous action is being taken against those who burn garbage or incinerate in the open, which has reduced incidents of smoke.

Green belts are mandatory at construction sites.

According to reports, Vice President Kalal also directed strict action against builders. He stated that green nets should be mandatory at every construction site. Construction materials should not be stored in the open, and anti-smoke guns should be operated regularly. He also stated that continuous water sprinkling is essential to control dust at construction sites.

Additionally, the enforcement and construction departments have been directed to form a joint monitoring team to ensure that garbage or waste material is not burned anywhere within the authority's jurisdiction. The team has been ordered to conduct daily inspections and submit a report.

Appeal to citizens to maintain cleanliness

The Vice President also appealed to citizens to keep their surroundings clean and to sprinkle water outside their homes and shops from time to time. He said, "Maintaining a clean environment is not just the government's responsibility, but the collective responsibility of every citizen.

This comprehensive campaign launched by the GDA is considered a significant step towards significantly improving the city's air quality. Its aim is to provide its citizens with a clean, healthy, and pollution-free environment, making Ghaziabad a better and more livable city.
