News Topical, Digital Desk : While repatriating two children who had been kidnapped from Gurugram, Haryana, the accused's Bolero car met with a road accident in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, killing five people on the spot and injuring five others. The two children were among the injured.
Superintendent of Police (City) Manush Pareek said on Monday, April 6, that on Sunday afternoon, near Pardhauli village in the CBganj police station area, a speeding Bolero car first hit a motorcycle on the Delhi-Lucknow National Highway and then lost control and crashed into a tanker parked on the side of the road. The accident was so severe that both the Bolero and the motorcycle were completely destroyed.
Kidnappers killed, children injured
The Bolero occupants, Sikandar Kumar (28), Manmohan (42), an unidentified man, and the motorcycle riders, Shamsad (45) and Mumtaz (65), died on the spot. Five other Bolero passengers were injured, including the driver, Prince, and the two kidnapped children.
During the investigation, the police became strict when they suspected the injured driver Prince and interrogated him, after which he revealed that the three deceased were his accomplices and they had kidnapped an auto driver Manoj and his two children from Gurugram.
The accused wanted to marry the daughter, kidnapped the father and children.
According to the police, Manoj, originally from Faridpur, drives an auto in Gurugram. The accused, Manmohan, wanted to marry his minor adopted daughter, a decision Manoj opposed. Consequently, the accused kidnapped Manoj and his two children. Manoj's wife, Pooja, filed an FIR at the DLF (First) police station in Gurugram.
Following Prince's information, the police recovered Manoj from a house in Bareilly. It is reported that the accused were on their way to drop the children off when the accident occurred. The Haryana Police is further investigating the matter.
