
News Topical, Digital Desk : FII DII Data: Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold shares in the Indian stock market for the second consecutive week in June. According to exchange data, FIIs sold equities worth Rs 1,246 crore in the week ended June 13, while domestic institutional investors (DIIs) made net purchases of Rs 18,637 crore.
Highest FII withdrawal of the week on June 12
FIIs were net sellers on three out of five days. The highest withdrawal of Rs 3,831 crore was made during the week on June 12. Minor investments on June 9 and 10 helped recover some losses, but overall investor sentiment remained cautious. DII investments Domestic institutional investors or DIIs supported the markets by registering strong net investments on each day of the week. The biggest investment was made on June 12 at Rs 9,394 crore, followed by Rs 3,504 crore on June 9. This trend of domestic support continues amid global uncertainty and foreign withdrawals. Market sentiment turned risk-averse in the middle of the week after reports of rising tensions in the Middle East, due to which investors decided to move away from rate-sensitive and financially risky sectors such as banking and capital markets. Let us tell you that during the week, both the indices - BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty - declined by about 1 percent, with the broader Nifty Bank and Nifty Midcap Index performing poorly with a decline of about 2 percent.
