News Topical, Digital Desk : Winter brings with it fog, cold winds, and health challenges. Maintaining strong immunity and keeping the body warm from within is essential during this season (Winter Health Care). However, we often start eating seemingly "healthy" foods that actually prove to be more harmful than beneficial to our health.

Amla Candy

Amla is a storehouse of vitamin C and antioxidants, but amla candy isn't a healthy substitute. Amita explains, "Amla is great, but amla candy isn't. It's high in sugar." Instead, grate fresh amla and add it to chutney, dal, vegetables, or salads. This will give you all the benefits of amla without the added sugar.

Dry Fruit Laddoo

In winter, dry fruit laddus are made in every household. While they're rich in nutrients, they're also high in calories. Amita advises, "One laddu can easily contain around 200 calories. If you 're trying to lose weight , a handful of nuts is enough." Eating dry fruits in moderation is crucial for health.

Chyawanprash

Chyawanprash is considered a surefire winter health remedy, but Amita gives an unpopular opinion on it, saying, "Chyawanprash is something you don't really need. A green vegetable soup provides more antioxidants than Chyawanprash , and Chyawanprash also has a high sugar content. So, no one needs it, not even children."

Ready-packaged soups

Warm soup is comforting in winter, but be wary of ready-packaged soups. "Ready-packaged soups are high in sodium and hardly contain any other nutrients," warns Amita. Instead, try homemade soup made with fresh vegetables, spices, and herbs. It will be nutritious and delicious.

lots of ghee

In winter, we tend to eat more ghee or hot foods. However, Amita emphasizes that our physical activity typically decreases during this season. In winter, we tend to move less, want to relax, and naturally become a little lazy. Therefore, we don't need the calories from excess fat. Therefore, consume ghee in moderation.
