New Delhi: With changing cinema and technology, the form of ghosts in horror films has also changed completely. Tulsi Ramsay and Shyam Ramsay (Ramsay Brothers) were famous for making horror films in that era. They made the first horror film 'Do Gaj Zameen Ke Neeche' in 1972 under Ramsay Brothers Production.

After this, he came up with many horror films like Andhera, Darwaza, Dahshat, Purana Mandir and Veerana, which were superhit films of that era. In his films, if a girl played the role of a ghost, lenses were put in her eyes, while prosthetic makeup was done on men to make them ghosts.

Apart from this, to make people feel scared after watching the film, the makers especially took care of the sound of the door, the sound of falling water and the camera angle and lighting. However, the story of their films was almost the same and so were their ghosts.

Now cinema has completely changed and so has the look of the ghost in horror films. In today's time, no human being is made into a ghost, rather, by taking advantage of technology, the makers create ghosts in horror films with VFX. Not only this, the makers also keep in mind that while creating the ghost, the feeling should be old, but the style should be completely Gen Z, so that today's generation can also connect with it.

Now there are such ghosts that if you suddenly see their face, your heart beats faster. Let's see how the appearance of the ghosts and their stories have changed in films with the change in cinema.

Let's start with Stree 2, which is currently making a splash at the box office. In this film, Stree is the protector and Sarkata is the predator, who makes the modern-minded girls living in Chanderi disappear. The story behind how he becomes Sarkata is also shown very beautifully.

The makers have done most of the VFX work on his head instead of focusing on his entire body. In the movie, it is shown how the woman cuts off the debauched king's head with a dagger and after that he roams around the whole village with his head in his hand.

Munjya

Dinesh Vijan's second film Munjya is also in this list, whose ghost is the most unique. Gotya, who is crazy about a girl since childhood, goes to sacrifice his sister to please the devil and he himself gets sacrificed. After that he becomes 'Munjya'. In this, Munjya's big eyes sometimes make people laugh, sometimes scare them. He is visible only to those who are of his lineage.

When Bittu comes to the village and goes to the forests of Konkan, Munjya climbs on his back to find his childhood love 'Munni'. However, Munjya is also shown to be a bit of a flirt in the movie. As soon as he sees that Munni has grown up, he starts chasing Bela.

Kakuda

The plot of Sonakshi Sinha and Riteish Deshmukh starrer 'Kakuda' is also different. How a short height boy working in a circus comes to Rataudi village and then he gets impressed by the villagers and falls in love with them. He decides to stay in the same village, during this time he befriends a widow girl and her son, whom no one is allowed to meet.

One day when the widow has a back pain, her son calls Kakuda, but the wrestler master sees this and instigates the villagers against Kakuda and the villagers burn his house and due to the beating, Kakuda also dies in 13 hours while lying on the ground, after which his soul keeps wandering and every Tuesday night the villagers install two doors in the house.

If the door of someone's house is left closed, Kakuda comes and kicks him hard and he develops a hunchback. That person dies within 13 days. Seeing Kakuda's ghost in the film will remind you of Hulk's character.

Woman

Earlier, when an actress used to play the role of a ghost, the makers used to focus on her voice and eyes so that people would get scared. However, now the ghost has also changed. In the first part, it is shown how the spirit of a woman wanders in Chanderi village and if she sees a man, she strips him naked.

In the film, Stree's entire body is shown burnt. How she wanders as a ghost and what happens in her past has been portrayed brilliantly in the film. Even without any sound, Stree is capable of scaring people.

Hastar

'Sleep or else Hastar will come', this dialogue was on the lips of many people in the year 2018. The story of the folk horror film directed by Rahi Anil is quite unique. Vinayak Rao tells his son Pandurang about the goddess of prosperity, who is the symbol of gold and grains. Hastar, the first child of the goddess, is greedy and he grabs all the gold of the goddess. When he goes to get the grains, the deity kills him, after which the goddess gives him a place in her alcove, but only on the condition that he will be forgotten.

However, the people of Tumbbad accept him as their god and start worshipping him. Vinayak is greedy since childhood, to get rid of his poverty, he takes flour to the place where Hastar comes. When Hastar eats the grain, gold falls from his back, but if the grain runs out, Hastar kills the person.
