New Delhi: There is a lot of controversy going on regarding the web series IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack starring Vijay Verma and directed by Anubhav Sinha. This entire controversy has arisen due to showing the Hindu names of the terrorists in the film.

There is protest against Hindu names

Actually the names of the terrorists who hijackered the plane were Ibrahim Athar, Shahid Akhtar Saeed, Gulshan Iqbal, Sunny Ahmed Qazi, Mistry Zahoor Ibrahim and Shakir. But they were talking to each other in the plane using code words Bhola, Shankar, Doctor, Burger and Chief. People on social media have objected to the names Bhola and Shankar. They say that Anubhav Sinha deliberately used Hindu names.

Asked for answer from Netflix

Now, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has summoned the Netflix content head tomorrow. The government wants a response from the streaming platform on this matter. However, according to the Ministry of External Affairs report of January 2000, the code words used by the hijackers have been shown in the same way in the series.

BJP leader expressed his anger

Let us tell you that many politicians have already given their views on this matter. BJP's Amit Malviya, speaking on this, said, "The hijackers of IC-814 were dreaded terrorists who had adopted aliases to hide their Muslim identity. Filmmaker Anubhav Sinha legitimized their criminal intent by promoting their non-Muslim name.
