New Delhi: Ever since Anubhav Sinha's web series IC: The Kandahar Hijack was released, it has been in the headlines. Its story is based on the Kandahar hijack that happened in the year 1999. People have protested against the names of the terrorists shown in the series, Shankar and Bhola.

People say that all five terrorists were Muslims while Anubhav Sinha deliberately used Hindu names here. Now amidst these claims, Captain Devi Sharan, who was the pilot of the hijacked plane, has shared two other incidents. He told that these two incidents shown in the series did not happen in reality. Devi Sharan's character in the series is played by Vijay Verma

Did things change?

In an interview to the Telegraph, Devi Sharan said that the series shows that the Foreign Minister salutes us, but there was nothing like that. He just appreciated our efforts through a gesture. Apart from this, in another scene it is shown that Devi Sharan fixed the plumbing lines on his own. But in reality, the Taliban officials had sent an employee. Devi took that employee with him to the hold of the plane because he could not understand where the lines were.

The incident happened in the year 1999

Let us tell you that IC 814: Kandahar Hijack is based on the hijacking of a flight bound for India in December 1999. The flight was flying from Kathmandu to New Delhi when it was hijacked. The passengers and crew were held hostage for seven days. In exchange for releasing the passengers, the terrorists demanded the release of three high-profile terrorists including Maulana Masood Azhar, Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh and Mushtaq Ahmed etc.
