Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra are considered to be best friends in the film industry. Their movie 'Sholay' was based on friendship, which people still like to watch. Bullets were actually fired to make the scene perfect

Sholay is considered a classic cult movie of Bollywood. Along with the comedy of 'Jai-Veeru', the naughty acts and innocence of 'Basanti' Hema Malini and Jaya Bachchan who played Thakur's daughter-in-law were well-liked. The makers left no stone unturned to make this movie perfect. Dharmendra even fired bullets in real life to achieve perfection.

Firing was done in anger

Actually, in the climax scene of 'Sholay' it is shown that after being freed from Gabbar Singh's captivity, Veeru picks up the gun before running away with Basanti. He opens the box which contains bullets and takes out the bullets from it and fills his pocket with them. However, Dharmendra had to give many retakes for this scene, due to which he got irritated and fired in the air, which passed right by Amitabh's ear.

Amitabh Bachchan had revealed

Amitabh Bachchan revealed this in an episode of 'Kaun Banega Crorepati'. He said, "When we were shooting that scene, Dharmendra was below and I was on top of the hill. Dharmendra opens a trunk and picks up ammunition. He did it once and failed to pick up the bullets, then he did it again and failed again."

Big B said that he was irritated by this. He removed the cartridges from the gun and they were real bullets. He got so irritated at not getting the right bullet that he fired the gun. Amitabh told that when he was standing on the hill, the bullet passed near his ear. He narrowly escaped.
