News Topical, Digital Desk : Following the BJP's impressive performance in the Maharashtra local body elections, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has issued a warning to all BJP leaders. He said they should refrain from making harsh comments about their allies.
Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar's NCP were the BJP's opponents in the Maharashtra civic elections. These three parties are part of the Mahayuti (grand alliance). Consequently, CM Fadnavis has instructed all BJP leaders not to attack their allies.
Core team meeting called
CM Fadnavis convened a meeting of the BJP's core team at his residence last night. During the meeting, the party's performance in the elections was discussed. While the BJP had an upper hand in the civic elections, it also suffered defeats in several seats.
Chief Minister Fadnavis said, “BJP can do even better in the civic polls. No ally will attack our allies during the election campaign.”
Eye on BMC elections
The three Mahayuti parties have so far won 288 seats in the civic elections. Meanwhile, the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) has been reduced to just 44 seats. All eyes are now on the BMC elections, scheduled for January 15th, the results of which will be announced on January 16th.
