Putin suggested holding the next meeting in Moscow
Russian President Putin suggested Moscow for the next meeting. He said this in English. Trump said that people will not like this decision and there will be some criticism, but he did not completely deny it. Trump said that this can happen.
Putin said- Russia and America are neighbors
Putin said that even though America and Russia are separated by oceans, they are very close neighbours. He said that the distance between the two countries is only 4 kilometers, so they are true neighbours. Putin said that when he shook hands with Trump at the airport this morning, he said 'Namaste Neighbor' to him.
Putin then recalled the history of Alaska, which was part of Russia 158 years ago. Referring to the Russian Orthodox churches that still exist in the US state, he said this shared heritage could help strengthen the equal and mutually beneficial relationship between the two countries.
Putin said - time has come to leave confrontation and start dialogue
Putin further said that there has been no summit between the US and Russia for the last few years, and the relations between the two countries have reached the lowest level since the Cold War. But now the time has come to leave the confrontation and move towards dialogue.
Putin also said that he and Trump have spoken openly on the phone several times. Apart from this, Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff has also continued the conversation during this time.
