News Topical, Digital Desk : Many of us enjoy taking a short afternoon nap. It certainly provides a moment of relief from a tiring day, but did you know that doctors say that an afternoon nap can be fatal?
Know these 2 rules before sleeping
In fact, afternoon naps aren't inherently bad. The danger arises when you sleep at the wrong time or for the wrong duration. Naps taken at the wrong time or in the wrong manner are like poison to the body, damaging your health internally.
Don't panic. According to the doctor, the same Harvard study also explains how you can protect yourself from this danger. If you want to sleep in the afternoon and still avoid illness, you just need to follow these two simple rules:
- The right duration: Your nap should only last between 10 and 30 minutes. Any longer than this can be harmful.
- Best time: The safest time to take a short afternoon nap is between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Don't sleep after 2:00 p.m.
The most important thing is to get the bulk of your sleep at night. If you want a restful, undisturbed night's sleep, avoid napping too long in the afternoon.
