Meanwhile, the Rekha Gupta government of Delhi has also extended a helping hand to the people affected by the disaster in the state. The Delhi government has decided to contribute Rs 5 crore to the Punjab Chief Minister's Relief Fund. Along with this, CM Rekha Gupta has expressed condolences to the affected families and wished them to recover from this calamity as soon as possible.
While talking to the media, CM Rekha Gupta said, "There is a flood situation in our neighboring state Punjab at this time. And the kind of conditions the residents are living in there. I express my deepest condolences on behalf of them. May God give them relief from this trouble and trouble soon. On behalf of the Delhi government, we announce a donation of Rs 5 crore to the Punjab CM Relief Fund."

He further said, "We want Punjab to come out of these dire situations soon. Every citizen there should feel relieved, people there should be able to get back to their daily routine, their homes. Delhi stands shoulder to shoulder with Punjab- Rekha Gupta
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also said, "Punjab and Delhi are neighbouring states and Delhi stands shoulder to shoulder with the neighbours in their pain and suffering. I myself had spoken to the Chief Minister. If they need any other kind of help from us, we are ready for that."
Crops destroyed due to severe floods in Punjab
It is noteworthy that the death toll due to severe floods in Punjab rose to 43 on Thursday (September 4), while crops on 1.71 lakh hectares have been destroyed. Due to the current flood in Hoshiarpur, Punjab, more than 101 km of Public Works Department (PWD) link roads, 54 km of PWD Yojana Marg and 117 km of Mandi Board roads have been damaged. People trapped in the floods are being evacuated safely and sent to relief camps.
