In Bhatpurwa village, under the Kalwari police station area of ​​Basti district, a Dalit youth was brutally beaten by bullies. The youth had gone to the home of the bullies to complain about their abuse. During this time, he was assaulted. The bullies tied the Dalit youth to a tree, tore his clothes, and beat him severely with sticks. The bullies tied him to the tree and beat him so badly that even the sticks broke. Somehow, the youth escaped and hid in a sugarcane field to save his life. Shrichand's sister, Seema, is a Bhojpuri singer, and her family is deeply hurt and frightened by this incident.

The victim told his story

The victim, Shrichand, said he was returning home from the colony with his elder brother. On the way, Shivshant stopped them and began abusing them. When Shrichand arrived home, he informed his family about the incident. They advised him to complain to Shivshant's family. Shrichand then stopped at Shivshant's house with his sister to get his Aadhaar card corrected. Instead of addressing their complaint, the family began abusing Shrichand.

The family members of the accused pulled the victim's sister Seema out of the car and started beating her. They broke the glass of the car and crossing all limits of inhumanity, first they beat the victim severely with sticks and then tore his shirt and tied him to a tree with a rope and beat him severely. The victim Seema told that when we went to complain to our family members, they abused me with casteist slurs and pulled me out of the car and beat me. After that, they beat both my brothers. My brother was tied to a tree, stripped naked and beaten so much that even the stick broke. They broke the glass of the car. They snatched Rs. 42 thousand cash kept in the car and the gold chain from his neck.

Regarding this matter, Kalwari Circle CO Pradeep Kumar Tripathi stated that a case has been registered at the Kalwari police station based on the victim's complaint . The injured are receiving medical treatment . Police have been deployed in the village and further action is underway . He said the accused will be arrested soon and legal action will be taken .
