News Topical, Digital Desk : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday conducted a site inspection of the four-lane road from Domingarh Madhopur Bandha to Mahesra Bridge and the under-construction rail overbridge (ROB) in Domingarh. He also inquired about the construction of the four-lane road from Rajghat Bridge via Hubert Bandha to Domingarh, Koliya, and Gahasad Bandha, via the Jungle Kaudiya-Kalesar road. Describing these three projects as crucial for smooth traffic and flood protection, he directed that work be expedited. 

After attending the inauguration and foundation stone laying ceremonies for development projects worth ₹1,055 crore, including an eco-park, the Chief Minister inspected the four-lane road from Domingarh Madhopur Dam to Mahesra Bridge and the Domingarh rail overbridge. He first stopped at the dam ahead of Laldighi. Here, he reviewed the drawing map of the four-lane road project and inquired about the progress of the work. The Chief Minister directed officials of the Public Works Department, Construction Division 2, the executing agency, to expedite the work and prepare to dedicate it to the public as soon as possible.

Review of dam construction

After this, CM Yogi stopped at the embankment near Ilahibagh on the same route and inspected the construction work. He directed the executing agency to complete the four-lane road by July 2026 instead of the targeted September 2026 deadline. Here, the Chief Minister directed the Municipal Commissioner to contribute to the beautification of the four-lane road leading to Mahesra. He said that in Mahesra, garbage remains scattered on the land adjacent to the water body adjacent to the road. Developments like an eco-park could also be implemented there.

A new chain of development is being established in Gorakhpur : Chief Minister

After inspecting the four-lane road, the Chief Minister inquired about the progress of the rail overbridge on the Rahmatnagar-Madhopur Road on the Jagatbela-Domingarh rail section near Domingarh Chowki. After reviewing the drawing map, he directed that construction work be expedited. Addressing the crowd gathered near Domingarh Chowki, CM Yogi said that a new development is underway in Gorakhpur to make life easier.

He said that the construction of a four-lane road at Hubert Dam, Domingarh Dam, and a rail overbridge at Domingarh will greatly facilitate transportation for the people of Ghunghunkotha, Jagatbela, and surrounding areas. Strengthening the four-lane embankment will also protect against floods. The four-lane road will make it much easier to travel via the Jungle Kaudiya-Kalesar or Sonauli routes.

Excellent four-lane connectivity will be available outside the city

CM Yogi Adityanath stated that the four-lane road will now provide excellent connectivity throughout the city. Travelers will no longer need to enter the city to reach the Nepalese route via Rajghat and TP Nagar. This four-lane road will make it easy to travel directly to Mahesra and from there to Sonauli. He expressed confidence that the implementing agencies will complete the work on time, providing significant relief to the public.

10 km long road will go till Mahesara bridge

Construction of a 10.2-km four-lane road from Domingarh Madhopur Bandha via Basiyadih Temple to the Gorakhpur-Sonauli road near Mahesra Bridge is underway at a cost of Rs 379.54 crore. The Public Works Department's Construction Division 2 is the implementing agency. This road is scheduled to be completed by September 2026. However, the Chief Minister has directed that it be completed by July.

There will be connectivity of Jungle Kaudia-Kalesar road from Hubert Bandh

Similarly, a four-lane road is being constructed from the Rajghat Bridge via Hubert Dam, Domingarh, Koliya, and Gahasad Dam to the Jungle Kaudiya-Kalesar road. The cost of converting this 4.07 km long road into a four-lane road is estimated at ₹195.21 crore. According to the Public Works Department, Construction Division 2, the executing agency, more than 75 percent of the work has been completed, and the target is to complete it by May 2026.

The railway overbridge is being constructed at a cost of Rs 132 crore.

An overbridge is being constructed on the Rahmatnagar-Madhopur Road on the Jagatbela-Domingarh rail section at a cost of ₹132 crore 60 lakh 78 thousand. The 755-meter-long bridge is scheduled to be completed by December 2027. This bridge will connect the TP Nagar, Kalesar Jungle, and Kaudiya roads, providing direct connectivity from the Hubert embankment on the left bank of the Rohin River to the Madhopur embankment, providing Mohripur with the Gorakhpur-Sonauli road. This will significantly facilitate passengers traveling on the Sonauli route, saving time and fuel.
